First of August is het Amsterdamse creatieve bedrijf van Karlijn Boersma. Afgestudeerd aan het Amsterdam Fashion Institute en Master Cultuursociologie, probeert zij mode en (sociologische) trends met elkaar te verbinden en te delen met anderen. First of August, begonnen als blog, bestaat uit een online shop en eigen collectie ‘by FoA’.
De blog is een online documentatie van mode en cultuur waar aandacht is voor authenticiteit en oprechtheid van jonge creatieven. In de online shop worden trends uit de blog vertaald naar fysieke producten. De First of August shop biedt jonge designer labels en unieke, handgemaakte accessoires. Een mix van vintage met high-fashion alternatieve kledingcollecties en merken definieert een moderne stijl voor de veelzijdige en creatieve urban dweller.
In een voormalig zeemanshuis in Amsterdam Oost werkt FoA dagelijks aan de activiteiten voor de webshop, blog en eigen ‘by FoA’ collectie. Met een showroom in de studio breidt FoA haar online wereld uit. Nieuwsgierig naar onze producten en activiteiten? First of August is the Amsterdam-based creative company of Karlijn Boersma. Graduated at Amsterdam Fashion Institute and Master’s Cultural Sociology, she tries to mix fashion and (sociological) trends and share her vision on style. First of August started as a blog and after her First year, extended her activities with an online shop and own collection ‘by FoA’.
The blog is an raw online documentation about fashion and culture that celebrates the beautiful and genuine lives and styles of young creatives. In FoA’s online store the trends reported on the blog are translated into physical products. The online shop offers young designer labels and uniquely handcrafted accessories. The mix of vintage with high-fashion alternative clothing collections and brands defines a modern style for the creative urban dweller.
In a former maritime college and home in the Eastern district of Amsterdam, FoA works daily on her webshop, blog and ‘by FoA’ clothing collection. A showroom in the studio is an extension of FoA’s online world. Curious about our work and products?
